As we get deeper into the age of digital marketing and media, we’re starting to see an influx of brands –spanning all industries– who are stepping their game up when it comes to innovate ways to market their product.
One industry killing it these days is spirits and we’ve been keeping our ears to the ground for who’s doing what and just how well they’re executing. So we did some
drinking research and have chosen 5 brands who are shaking sh*t up when it comes to events, branding, and storytelling.
Here’s what we’re sippin’…
Skulls, cigarettes, and coffee. This bad-to-the-bone combo is what puts this up-and-coming rum brand on our radar, and HARD. Their packaging alone is reason to love them; the box was made to resemble a classic Marlboro cigarette pack. Not to mention, Stolen Rum sponsors the coolest events ’round town. If you’re into badass brands, this should be your drink of choice.
Jägermeister has been stepping up their brand with a little help of a series called “Jäger Stag’s Club.” The event series, which launched earlier this year in New York City, is intended to put Jager in a whole new light by gathering influencers in a room and allowing them to create their own Jägermeister cocktails according to their preferred taste profiles. The constant throughtout all the events: a 56 ingredient bar, Jäger-infused bites, and take aways for all guests including engraved bottles, stag’s head shot glasses, and VIP tickets to concerts, via the last event in Los Angeles.
Anything named “ilegal” piques our interest immediately (see Stolen Rum), and what’s great about this brand is that the name actually has true meaning. Ilegal Mezcal was founded a decade ago in a small bar in Antigua, Guatemala, after the owner smuggled unbranded mezcal to his country– some unconventional ways to bypass security included him dressing up as a priest. Fast forward years later, they brought that same experience to the states and keep the “illegal” mystique alive by hosting cultural events at their Illegal Social Club in Tribeca. Her name is Athena Calderone, founder of Eye Swoon and also Cointreau’s latest ambassador for a new program that’s looking to celebrate moments of inspiration. The brand has partnered with luminaries such as Kyle DeWoody, Kate Schelter, and design power couple, Whitney Pozgay and Parker Argote, to name a few, and adhere to support all their creative endeavors. If you’re lucky enough to be invited to any of their events, expect it to look a lot like the picture above. Swoon-worthy, indeed.

The hunky duo launched Casamigos last year after over 5 years of refining their variations which include reposado, añejo and blanco, making it the smoothest tequila brand in the market.
