As much as we love to drool over the clothes and beauty looks at NYFW, this season, we couldn’t take our eyes off the tiniest (yet chicest) element in every show — nails. While we’re a little biased when it comes to nail designs (you know, because our Boss Lady owns a little place called Chillhouse), this spring ’18 nail game was strong AF. So instead of showing you the typical fashion trends, we’re highlighting the coolest nail designs that swept the runway to give you inspo for any season.
Colorful cross-hatching nails were one of the key features of Christian Siriano’s show this year. Created by Gina Edwards for KISS, this abstract design involved purple and pink hues over an all-white base.
Track pants-inspired digits flourished all over Fashion Week with their single-striped designs and back-to-basics hues. For example, nail artist, Alicia Torello, killed it with this primary-hued athletic pattern.
It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t mention that Chillhouse with Lady Fancy Nails, Eda Levenson, took over not one but two runway shows this year. Starting with Baja East, they decided to keep things simple with alternating nail colors, using CND polish. Simple and strong nails were perfect for this show.
Chromat’s show Serenity was nothing short of amazing. However, their nail game was #flawless because of their one-of-a-kind designs (used with CND polish, of course) that involved movement, bold hues, and similar line work that mimicked the collection itself.
The reverse French mani rocked Club Monaco’s runway thanks to Chillhouse’s leading Lady Fancy Nails, Eda Levenson. The contrasting hues of CND’s black and pale pink polishes were the perfect juxtapositions to Club Monaco’s workwear fall 2017 collection.
We shouldn’t expect anything else from Libertine. Their nails are always out of this world and the highlight of every show. Thankfully, this season was just as amazing. Incorporated with CND bold polishes, beaded-accented nails alongside pill poppin’ baubles perfectly showcased the overall punk theme.
Jeremy Scott and nail artist, Miss Pop Nails, brought the glam when it came to the model’s nail situation. The textured glitter was a nice added contrast to the bare matte bright color on the nails. While this look might not work so well in the real world, it was perfect for the runway.
