We all have a love-hate relationship with the infamous L Train, but soon, this fickle yet necessary train is shutting down. So, while we have it, we might as well use it. We rounded up some of the best spots off of the L train, that are no more than a 10-minute walk from each station. Even though we have the precious L train for the next two years, it’s better to check out these hot spots while you can, because like any type of relationship, you don’t want to take the L train for granted… all aboard!

Start your day off at Greenwich Village’s petite and delicious Dell’anima. Whether you’re ordering classic brunch staples (French Toast or Soft-Scrambled Eggs) or getting an early morning pasta (we’ve all done it), you’ll be happy with your choice. Pair your meal with mimosas or their Stonefruit Bellini (peach, apricot, plum, sparkling wine) for a nice extra kick in the morning.

Post brunch, take a quick stroll to New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art. This is the perfect spot to hit when it’s just too hot to handle outside (or, let’s be real, too cold). Grab a ticket beforehand and make sure to check out what exhibits are there to prepare yourself for a day of one-of-a-kind art. With over 3,00 artists, the Whitney’s collection of twentieth and twenty-first-century American art is breathtaking and a true New York staple.

After a quick change at home to take your outfit from day to night, hop back on the trusty ole’ L train and make your way to Williamsburg. Your first stop of the night is perfect for when you’re in the need to quench your thirst. Head over to Hotel Delmano for pre-dinner drinks with friends. You can’t go wrong with their list of specialty cocktails. We love the Smoke and Flowers (Islay Scotch, St Germain, cream sherry, dry vermouth) and the San Francisco Handshake (thyme infused gin, St Germain, lemon, Fernet Branca). While you’re at it, snag one of their seasonal beverages before it’s too late.

Grab a quick pre-concert bite at Williamsburg’s new Birds of a Feather. From the team that brought us Manhattan’s Café China, comes this new Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant. Whether you’re craving classic Sichuan dishes or Chinese-fusion cuisine, Birds of a Feather will be right up your alley. Plus, we love the dim sum — you can never go wrong with some dim sum. Don’t forget to make a reservation, because this place is hot AF.

After your day on-and-off the L train, end your night at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade. Check out which artist or band is playing, and be sure to get your tickets in advance. Although the performers aren’t always super popular, they’ll be on your radar soon enough. Whether it’s an indie band or an up-and-coming rapper, you’ll be sure to see a great show.

While you wait for the concert to start, grab a drink and flip through old vinyls in the front of the concert venue — because who doesn’t like to shop and snag some obscure records before seeing a band shred it on stage? With a wide array of vinyl and CDs, the front of Rough Trade is sure to remind you of the glory days before streaming services.
