Hi guys, Cyndi here. If you’ve been an avid reader, you may have noticed I’ve been a little absent. For that, I apologize and hope you’ve been enjoying the content my team has worked so hard on. I’m cheering ’em on from a near distance!
The reason for my silence has mostly been because of my new baby, a little place called Chillhouse. Chillhouse was conceptualized out of pure necessity: why are there no aspirational massage spots with approachable price points in NYC? The market is split in two ways: massages are either way undervalued, or overpriced and unattainable. This got my husband and I thinking: what else is missing in the “spa” space? As the daughter of an esthetician who grew up in spas, I was always deeply bored (no offense, mom). Spas typically serve two purposes: full escape — no phone, full-zone out — or results-driven. But for me and most overworked New Yorkers, we don’t always have time to take two hours out of our day to indulge in such a luxury. Enter Chillhouse, a place you can come #chillatyourwill. Of course, we have a hashtag.
So what’s Chillhouse?
Designed by EAU, Chillhouse is a downtown escape for city dwellers seeking a modern path to total relaxation. Created in mind to provide luxury beauty services at affordable prices in an aspirational setting, Chillhouse offers a full-service café with “Turn Me On” and “Wind Me Down” lattes, a 10-seat nail bar that combines technical and artistic nail looks by Lady Fancy Nails, and a massage area that can help you #chillout with six signature services or a 25-minute Express Focus massage (which are all under $100, by the way), programmed by the magic hands himself, Wil Lewis. Chillhouse is open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m, so grab your best bud, order a Beet-chata at the café, and chill the F out with a next-level mani or a customizable massage experience.
Needless to say, I’m super proud of what the Chillhouse team has accomplished and I encourage you to book some services, or pop by and get one of our delicious lattes. Either way, it’s all love.
See you at 149 Essex St.
