Georgia Louise of Georgia Louise Atelier is the woman responsible for many glowing complexions seen on the red carpet during awards show season. The England native, who is now New York based, started her career in London where she opened up her first skincare clinic in Knightsbridge, London in 2007. In 2011, she moved to New York and in 2015, opened her Upper East Side Atelier. In addition to running her New York atelier and continuing to service London, the facialist, who is known for her non-invasive skincare routines, also has her own self-titled skincare line that consists of a collection of cleansers, toners, and moisturizers. In case that doesn’t sound hectic enough, the busy mother of two is now very much bicoastal with her career as she spends a fair amount of time in both New York and L.A. in order to properly cater to her impressive list of celebrity clients. For Georgia, awards show season is her busiest time of year, it is the time she spends prepping clients like Amy Schumer, Emma Stone, and Isabelle Huppert from morning to night to give them that “Georgia Louise glow.” So, just in time for the Oscars, Georgia Louise talked to us about how she gets her A-list celeb clients red-carpet ready every award show season.

In case you were wondering, Georgia’s clients get that “Georgia Louise glow” as a result of first receiving a comprehensive skincare consultation, then an intensive customized treatment, followed by home-care protocol to ensure best results. The combination of Georgia’s threefold skincare philosophy (1. Energizing skin cells, 2. toning muscles and 3. stimulating the lymphatic system) along with her famous bespoke facials make up the intensive customized treatment that each client receives that keep their skin glowing for their biggest red carpet appearances. “My clients want that taut and glowing look for the red carpet,” says the facialist.

Before any appointment, Georgia insists that her clients drink a lot of water in order to “Hydrate from the inside to detoxify the body and let the natural glow come through.” For the sake of their complexions, Georgia urges her clients to stay away from salt and save the partying until after their red carpet appearance. For best results, she suggests going to bed wearing a night mask, preferably one that’s hydrating and soothing such as Crème Masque Vernix.

According to Georgia, her go-to red carpet facials typically consist of “a light cleanse followed by a brightening lactic acid mask. I [then] use the galvanic and sonophoresis currents and wavelengths to penetrate essential vitamins and hydrating fluids into the skin. I finish with LED light therapy and oxygen.” In layman’s terms: the skincare guru hydrates, lifts and (if necessary) heals her clients. She adds that for clients in need of a little [extra] lift she will add in a micro-current and her lift and sculpt massage using her Butterfly Stone.

When asked what product she couldn’t live without during red carpet season? “My hero product for the awards season is CE-Thione from Medik8 for instant brightening; silk proteins to soften and smooth the skin and to finish it off the Vital Finishing Serum from my line. It’s the dessert of the treatment. It seals all of the moisture and gives the envious red carpet glow.”

For post-appointment upkeep the skincare expert encourages her clients to utilize her Vital Finishing Serum, confirming our suspicions about whether or not we should be adding a serum to our foundation or not. “It works well as a primer for makeup. The hyaluronic acid plumps the skin and gives it that glow,” notes Georgia.

At the end of her busiest time of year, Georgia likes to top the season off with her favorite award show. Like any true New Yorker, she prefers the fashion world over Hollywood and looks forward to the Met Gala every year. “I personally love the Met Gala, as it has, without a doubt, the best fashion and a real mix of personalities.” The esthetician notes that even though it’s her busiest time of year she loves working with fashion designers such as Alexander Wang “and getting a sneak preview of what’s to come.”
