First day of NYFW was a success. The clicking of the photographers’ cameras rippled against the puddles on the streets, while fashionistas somehow gracefully walked through the crowds while still maintaining their perfectly-done blowouts. How they still look so perfect after a shitshow of a rainy day will always be a mystery…or it’s witchcraft. Either way, this season is starting out great: We managed to successfully go to every show, dodging so much traffic in the rain that even Frogger would be proud…and we did it all in heels! And to top it off, this ensemble was part of our lineup.
We were lucky enough to capture Erin Fetherston’s Spring/Summer 2016 show, from backstage to the grand reveal. The collection seems to be aerated with effortless patterns of sprinkled florals that danced amongst romantic pleats, which shifted through different shades of blues and delicate touches of sheer fabric. It basically is the perfect wardrobe for a windy spring day. Fetherston’s laid-back collection was inspired by Jane Birkin and Anne of Avonlea, who was the main character of Anne of Green Gables series and inspired the needlepoint work throughout the accessories.
