Gift Guide for the Friend Who Won’t Get Off Their Phone

We all know someone who just can’t put down their phone. It’s there 25/8 and seemingly never turns off (where do they get all that battery?!). While it’s not a huge deal, we all prefer our friends to be present with us, rather than being immersed in their phone. So in order to try and help our friends (and yours) to break up with their phones, we compiled a gift guide for the one person in your life who just needs to put it down and let it go.

This little book is perfect for anyone who needs to sit down and prioritize their life, and if your friend is constantly stuck in the screen, then they count. The premise is that you make one list a week, depending on the instructions, and the book gives you a positive way to spin your life around. It’s perfect for someone trying to be more productive in their day-to-day activities.

Gifting your friend a suitcase is far from subtle, but it’s a surefire way of saying, “Hey! You! Get out and do something!” Whether they take it to their parents’ house or they plan a tropical getaway, they’ll be thankful that you gave them a reason to kick back, unplug, and go somewhere other than their apartment or work.

If your friend is constantly on their phone, it means they are far from chill. In order to (not-so-subtly) suggest that they should wind down, gift them this luxurious and oh-so-comfy meditation mat. It will give your friend an designated spot to unplug, as well as act as a really nice accent piece for their apartment.

For obvious reasons, if your friend can’t drop their phone, give them a reason to. A Chillhouse membership will give them one massage a month with an add-on, as well as discounts on manicures and cafe products, so it’s the perfect place to unplug and unwind. I mean… we hope your friend is willing to put the phone down for a massage (we would!).

They offer extreme comfort and provided optimum sound quality, so they’re perfect for listening to some music (or even a Podcast!) while they commute to and from work.

This poster from West Elm is one way to make sure your friend is doing something other than being absorbed into their phone. In fact, the poster alone gives you 100 different things to do before you die (or, you know, whenever you feel like it).

What Do You Meme is the perfect gift for your internet-loving friend, minus the internet, of course. This game combines classic memes with different turns of phrase, allowing for all the hilarity of the Internet without actually having to log on. If your friend likes it enough, be sure to look into the hilarious expansion packs, too!

A cooking class is a perfect way to get your friend to unplug, namely because, they have to. At Cook Space, you can purchase a gift card for your friend for them to cash in a cooking class of their choice. This way, they’ll be able to disconnect and learn some news skills while they’re away from the screen.
