Oh, the last week of August. The time you start scrambling through your closet trying to decide what to wear to all the über cool fashion week parties and what not. As a native New Yorker, the first week of September always reminded me of two things: Fall Fashion + NYFW. Well that and of course the dreaded back to school nonsense.
But thanks to NYFW, being a New Yorker in September is kind of an ordeal. There are the models who fly out from their native countries to walk the runways, the editors who always look effortlessly stylish, the bloggers who are photographed to death (aka the circus), and of course the celebrities who flock around the city like they’re one of us. With that said, come September being a regular person in fashion (this girl) can be an incredibly intimidating feat. This year I’m saying screw it. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I actually do not have all the money in the world to shop designer items so instead I’m going to stick to the more affordable pieces that are absolute standouts no matter who’s in the room with you.
And as for food? Food never judges you. That’s the beautiful thing about it and it’s also the reason why I’ve decided to start this blog– a blog for those of us who don’t take either one too seriously. Amen to that.
Below are some items in my shopping carts, followed by some tasty fall foods and spots you need to try this year, both guaranteed to make your mouth salivate.
Because everyone loves a good shark graphic. (Pixie Market)
The perfect effortlessly chic blouse aka the boyfriend shirt. (Pixie Market)
This oversized cape coat from Nasty Gal is a great “in between weather” alternative.
These fall overalls, throw a flannel on top and you’ve got yourself a spot on everyday look. (Nasty Gal)
This leather overall dress is ridiculously delicious for fall, spring, summer, you name it. (Reformation)
Jewel toned and geometric prints– can’t get more fall fashion than that. (ASOS)
Zara is killing it this year with their simple cuts and this sleeveless waistcoat is a prime example. (Zara)
Well because who doesn’t love both of these things. (Reformation)
These little kitty glasses are affordable and look great on all face shapes. (Quay Austrailia)
These blue babies by Shoe Cult, my new obsession by Nasty Gal (of course.)
The shoes I can’t wait to run around the city in. (Zara)
… and now, what I can’t WAIT to stuff my face with this season.
*Sigh* the Ramen Burger. That new little burger that stole all the attention from the beloved Cronut. Follow where to find it here.
The Pok Pok Pig Tails at Mission Chinese.
This ridiculous looking Rabbit and Artichoke Paella from Toro.
This open-face beef check sandwich from Perla. (above)
And because it’s almost fashion week and I want to feel super freaking fancy, ZZ‘s at the top of my never-ending go-to list.
Now go forth… Shop and stuff your face off.
