Last Minute Oscars Dress Predictions Fresh Off The Runway

It’s not unusual to see dresses at award shows fresh off the runway. After all, top stylists are front row fixtures at every major designer show and with no other big red carpet spectacle on the horizon other than The Oscars, we’re going to venture a guess that a couple of the standout dresses from New York Fashion Week will appear on the red carpet this Sunday. At least, here’s hoping.

Below are the dresses we’d fancy seeing tomorrow night and who we hope to see them on…

Designer: Bibhu Mohapatra

Who will wear it: Rosamund Pike

Why: This Bibhu Mohapatra dress is all the rights amount of cool, as is this year’s favorite villain, Ms. Gone Girl herself.

Who will wear it: Marion Cotillard

Why: Because we think Marion is overdue a red moment and this Marchesa dress is one of the standouts for Fall 2015.

Designer: Jenny Packham

Who would wear it: Laura Dern

Why: With a body as lean and tall as Laura’s, she can do no wrong. We think this bronze Jenny Packham dress would look like heaven on her.

Designer: Naeem Khan

Who will wear it: Julianne Moore

Why: Everyone expects Julianne to show up wearing either black, green or maybe a deep blue on the red carpet. Our guess is that she will surprise us all and go a bit more pale this year.

Designer: Zac Posen

Who will wear it: Lupita Nyong’o

Why: Lupita can pull off just about anything under the sun, and it would make us SO happy to see her in the most talked about dress this New York Fashion Week.

Designer: Rosie Assoulin

Who will wear it: Emma Stone

Why: Is it casual for the Oscars? Yes. But hear us out: Emma is no stranger to casual attire during award season (ie: the pantsuit from this year’s Golden Globes.) So while this is definitely a long shot, we think Emma would knock this Rosie number out of the park if styled correctly. Some ruby accessories, a fierce pump and a stunning up-do and everyone will forget the short hemline.
