Recently at a round table lunch with some movers and shakers in menswear, the discussion of the essentials every guy needs came up. While the exact number of pieces was debatable, we all did agree that a fool-proof method for guys to dress well is to start with staple classic pieces and from there continue to add the more fashion-forward items, such as accessories like a tie or a pocket square.
While listening to this conversation, I thought to myself, “I NEED to put this into effect.” It would save me a significant amount of time and money if I didn’t always pop into every H&M and Zara I passed by to snag the latest “fast-fashion” item. So I figured, there’s no better time than the New Year to clean out my closet and go back to the basics by taking some cues from menswear.
