Products to Help You Achieve the “Effortless” Look

The “effortless” look is something most of us strive for. We want the appearance of a flawless face without it looking like we spent 45 minutes in the morning doing our makeup routine — am I right, ladies?! And because summer is right around the corner, our makeup routine will most likely be less product heavy. So it’s important for you (and me) to find products that are either multi-purpose or able to apply with extreme ease for those mornings when we’re panicking and rushing to the subway. (Don’t even pretend you haven’t had one of those moments.) To help, I’ve rounded up some products that will help you embrace whatcha got but still give you that confidence you’re looking for. Here’s to less makeup and more inner beauty!

The Glossier Skin Tint is probably the ultimate product for those of us that don’t want a lot of coverage. This product will even out your complexion while giving you a dewy finish. Basically, it’s the perfect “effortless” product. For best results, apply with your fingers so your body heat can help perfectly blend the product. However, this may not work for everyone. If you want something with a little more coverage, keep scrolling.

If you’re into K-beauty, look no further. Erborian, a Korean brand, has one of the most magical products I’ve ever used. This CC cream is white, and when applied, adjusts to your skin tone. Again, this is a product best applied with your fignertips. This product offers a little more coverage than the Glossier Skin Tint, so this is perfect for those of you who may not be completely ready to go bare-faced into the world. Plus, it also contains skincare ingredients that help treat while covering.

If you haven’t heard of this product, you must be completely unplugged from social media. If that’s the case, I applaud you. If not, you already know how much everyone RAVES about this product. A product that you can use for lips, cheeks, and eyes? We’re completely sold. Be sure to test out a few shades to know which one works best with your skin tone. The multistick comes in 17 shades, so you’re bound to find something you can work with. Its creamy texture makes it super blend-able and easy to apply and hard to completely f*** up. If you’re applying to the eyes, add a coat of your favorite mascara to really make your eyes pop.

If you don’t know about this product, then I KNOW you’ve been living under a rock on some remote island and I couldn’t be more jealous. However, if you don’t have this product in your life, you really are missing out. Boy Brow really does it all. Not only does it tame your brows, but it also gives them color and helps fill in any sparse areas. And if you can help it, try to let your brows go out. “Instagram brows” are great for some people, but natural brows help shape your face and complete the “effortless” look.

Lipgloss is finally making a comeback and my middle school self is filled with excitement. The Fresh Sugar Cream Lip Treatments are basically the sophisticated versions of the lip glosses you were wearing in the early 2000’s. Available in three colors, these glosses are extremely nourishing with some of the same ingredients as their original Sugar Lip Treatments and contain a little bit of shimmer. If you’re scared of shimmer, trust me, there’s just enough to make your lips look a little plumper. The best part? It doesn’t feel sticky. There’s just enough slip to make your lips look poppin’. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
