The Only Three Things You Should Be Doing This Weekend

Summer is slowly slipping away which means you have to start stepping up your partying game in a serious way to get it all in. And this weekend, there are three badass events ready to take your Summer to the next level.

Starting with tonight…

Thursday (tonight) 8/7/14, Nitecoregirl at Human NYC, 8-11pm

Where: Human NYC Gallery, 110 Meserole Ave. (Greenpoint, Brooklyn)

Taking Gen Y social media debauchery to the offline world, Sybil Prentice’s installation, ‘Formula’, centers mainly on the female fantasy, the internet and Tumblr. Swing by and see how this artist masters the art of “searching images like an index of fantasies, regenerating the images with ImageMagick code, and printing them as merchandise of the internet/affordable art.”

Another reason to go? Viewers will be able to take home the vision of Formula and hang it on a wall. Yes, really.

Friday, 8/8/14, FULL MOON FEST, 4pm-Midnight

Where: The Beach at Governor’s Island

Now in its second year at The Beach at Governor’s Island, Full Moon Fest will be the only place you’ll want to spend your Friday– period. If last year was any indication, this somewhat under the radar music festival draws an impressive crowd of scenesters, creatives and fashion’s finest. So go rub elbows with your next best friend, dance to an impressive lineup that includes The Knocks, Delorean, & Son Lux, and eat some quality food from Tacombi, Spur Tree, Mile End and many more.

Buy Tickets here and watch their wicked fun-spiration video below.

Saturday, 8/9/14, Broome Street Block Party 2-6pm

Where: The Broome Hotel, 431 Broome Street (near Crosby)

Hosted by Chalk Point Kitchen, Broome Street is kicking off its first ever block party this Saturday and you’re all very much invited. Forty five bucks will cover all you can eat and drink (there’s a pig roasting and non-stop oyster shucking involved.) The block party will also include DJs, live art and some undisclosed special performances. Tickets available at the door so just add it to your calendar.

And as to what to do Sunday? Go hang out with your mom. Maybe head to church. Whatever makes you feel better after your soon to be devious weekend.
