The wait is finally over and we’re ready to unveil #TTSDEVOUR part trois. If you need a refresher, TTS Devour is our original editorial series that kicked off back in November to showcase the intersection of food and fashion. It all started with The New York Classics Edition, then we gave you The Alternative Holiday Nails Edition, and for our third story we’ve teamed up with Trends on Trends to take on the most important meal of the day…breakfast.
Nothing makes us jump out of bed faster than the promise of greasy and delicious morning sustenance, and we knew that, since they created #breakfastclubnyc, the crew over at Trends on Trends would be the perfect partners to tackle some of NYC’s most unique pre-noon dining spots. From Vietnamese style congee at Mission Cantina to breakfast tacos at Cafe El Presidente to a classy Italian feast at Frankies 570, we completely overindulged and we loved every second of it.
See the full story below, shop the accessories, and keep these spots in mind the next time your instant coffee and luna bar just isn’t cutting it.
When pancakes and eggs benny are too basic for brunch, Mission Cantina is where you wanna be. And while they’re currently serving a Mexican style brunch, we stopped in during the final days of their Vietnamese breakfast menu for duck congee, shrimp toast, and a bahn mi egg sandwich. It’s always a party here with loud music, strong drinks, and a lively crowd at all hours of the day, so it’s a good place to start if you need a bit of kick to get you going.
Mission Cantina’s energy can give you sensory overload, so we styled our model with simple nails and accessories to balance it all out.

Though we wanted to eat everything we knew we had to save room. Luckily, Mission Cantina was very accommodating and let us to take a breakfast bahn mi to go.

Everyone loves breakfast tacos since, well, they combine breakfast and tacos, and we chose to get ours at Cafe El Presidente. Cafe El Presidente is the sister restaurant to Nolita’s Tacombi, and while we fully think Mexican breakfast is the hangover cure from the gods, turns out it also kills it as a Tuesday mid-morning snack. We detoxed with lupitos (aka fresh squeezed juices) and retoxed with tacos, and the food was so freaking bright and colorful that our model needed sunglasses.
Inspired by Cafe El Presidente’s sunny color palette we completed this look with a bright red lip and nails designed for prime taco-clutching.
