These Wellness Powders From Chillhouse Will Make You Stress Less and Chill More

Wake, hustle, chill, repeat — as New Yorkers, that’s what we aim to achieve for our everyday routine. However, almost every waking moment is filled will more hustle and way less chill — until now. Chillhouse (you know, that oasis in the middle of LES?) has opened Chillhouse Cafe. With cafe staples like baked goods and elixirs to fuel your soul, you’ll be able to add more chill while you get a fresh mani or massage.

So to help introduce this new area of the cafe, a few of us from #teamTTS decided to test out the signature blends that are created in-house. Scroll below for our reviews of three Chillhouse powders products we think you need to get your paws on.

Chillhouse powder of choice:

Give Me Life

What it tastes like:

I’ll admit, I was a little taken aback by the plethora of medicinal mushrooms on the label (chaga, reishi, oh my!). But then there’s cacao. It kind of tastes like an earthy mocha. If you happen to put mushrooms in your mocha.

What time of day did you drink it?

Morning, and the occasional afternoon.

Speak yo mind:

I’ve been dealing with chronic exhaustion recently, so I jumped at the opportunity to try this powder, which promises a pick-me-up. I might have cheated a bit on day one by blending it in my coffee. Over time, I turned it into more of a wellness tonic by blending with my favorite Califia Farms almond milk (it’s literal crack). The powder is delicious — not too overpowering, but definitely tastes good for you — so I had no qualms about sipping on it from day to day. After using it for about a week, I don’t notice a crazy difference in my energy levels, but I don’t typically take any supplements so I feel the positive effects of feeling like you’re doing something good for your body (and really, that’s all that matters!).

Chillhouse powder of choice:

Make Me Glow

What it tastes like:

It was perfectly sweet and had subtle berry hints to it, so I didn’t need to sweeten it at all. With ingredients like Acai and Gogi, it makes sense that it tasted so good on its own!

What time of day did you drink it?

I drank it only at night, right before I went to sleep (a warm drink always puts me to sleep!). I drank it by mixing about a tablespoon of the powder into a mug of warm almond milk.

Speak yo mind:

I drank a full cup before bed for a week to see if it would make a difference and if you’d ask me, it has! I personally feel as if my skin is glowier than when I started, and I don’t intend on stopping anytime soon. Seeing as it tastes great and put me right to sleep (which is something I have problems doing), I’m definitely going to continue using it because I’d do anything for the glow.

Chillhouse powder of choice:

Spin My Wheels

What it tastes like:

Like if Chai tea and cocoa made out in the back of their health class. Basically delicious AF.

What time of day did you drink it?

During the first half of the week, I’d have a full cup of Spin My Wheels in the morning to replace my cup of joe. However, during the middle of the trial, I drank it in the afternoon.

Speak yo mind:

While I usually consider myself a morning person, I still drink a caffeinated drink — whether it’s coffee, matcha or hot green tea — to help get my wheels turning. So when I saw that Chillhouse created a health-conscious powder cocktail to power up my brain cells, I knew I had to give it a try.

For the first couple of days, I replaced my go-to morning caffeinated beverage with Spin My Wheels. It was incredibly easy to make (1 Tbl spoon of powder to 1 cup of milk — your choice). I sprinkled cinnamon on top to make it fuel my basic soul, and drink it after I’d have my breakfast. While I felt a little lift, it didn’t quite have the same effect as a matcha or coffee. However, I decided to switch things up. Instead of having Spin My Wheels in the morning, I would make it in the afternoon for, well, an afternoon pick-me-up. The 3pm crash I would normally get was long gone with this little guy. It helped me refocus while giving me a hint of energy.

While we only tested out three of these bad boys, there’s seven to choose from. So come to Chillhouse get a mani, and chill the f*ck out.
