Wild is the Wind: Christine Alcalay SS 14

Sometimes you get to work with women who are beautiful, smart, and talented. Christine is all of that and much much more. I met Christine Alcalay while shooting for Cosmopolitan UK a few months back and was instantly drawn to her exquisite personal style. Not only is she stunning and incredibly stylish, she also has one of those warm, genuine souls. Her designs are clear reflections of just that (all of which are made to order and made in NYC.)

I had the opportunity to bring in my new company, The Eclective, to help produce Christine’s Spring Summer ’14 NYFW presentation at Projective LES (big shout out to James Wahba for being part of the madness!) Everything from the hair + makeup to the styling was spot on. Culter/Redken brought on their badass team and delivered with that mohawk ‘do. Makeup Forever killed it with the iridescent cheekbones, and Anna Sheffield’s jewelry from Bing Bang was the perfect compliment to the collection, accompanied by the shoes from Avarcas.

The line was inspired by Nina’s Simone “Wild is the Wind”; romantic, whimsical and inevitably wild. Everything from the tapered baggy pants to the oxford pleated dress had me fantasizing for Spring. I particularly loved the tailored comfort of the cotton oxford looks; I’d live in those clothes in Spring and Summer. Not to mention her prints and lacing details– just gorgeous.

Feast your eyes on the beautiful models below (including my dear friend, Sophia Macks, who was a huge part of making this happen!) Make sure to like Christine Alcalay on Facebook and check out her site here.

Thank you to everyone involved in the show. Couldn’t be more proud to have been a part of such a talented team!
